When the going gets tough Juan Thornhill Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys , ght end had only three catches against the Chiefs on Sunday night, but he had big gains on each of the team's final two drives to help New England beat previously undefeated Kansas City 43-40.Gronkowski had a 42-yard catch and run to start a drive with under four minutes left that helped set up a Stephen Gostkowski field goal. Then, after Patrick Mahomes connected with Tyreek Hill on a 75-yard touchdown, Brady found the big tight end for 39 yards to the Kansas City 9.Gostkowski ended it with a 28-yard chip shot."We kept fighting. We stayed strong," Gronkowski said Monday. "It was a great night, a great football game."A five-time Super Bowl champion and three-time NFL MVP, Brady has had no trouble finding receivers in his 18-year career. But Gronkowski is one of his favorites, including 76 TD passes from the Patriots quarterback 鈥?nearly twice as many as the next most prolific Brady target."He made a big play. He's been making a lot of those his career," Brady said. "I'll keep throwing to him in the biggest moments."Gronkowski had one catch in the first quarter and then wasn't targeted again until the fourth as the Chiefs double-covered him for much of the game. But on first and 10 from their own 21 with 3:50 to play, Brady hit Gronkowski for 42 yards to set up a 50-yard field goal that made it 40-33.After Mahomes and Hill tied it, Brady dropped back from the Chiefs 48 and saw his 6-foot-6 tight end running one-on-one with cornerback Josh Shaw. He lofted a long pass into Gronkowski's arms; it took Shaw another 15 yards to bring him down."It was a really good throw," said Patriots receiver Chris Hogan Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys Stitched , who had catches of 42 and 19 yards on back-to-back plays during the Patriots' last touchdown drive. "I knew that with Rob being there, he had a really good chance at getting the ball. He ran a great route and set the offense up for a game-winning field goal."With three catches for 97 yards, Gronkowski finished the game with 500 career receptions 鈥?just the NFL's 15th tight end to reach the milestone. He did it in 108 games, the fourth-fastest in league history; he also hit the 7,500 yards receiving mark, the eighth tight end to do so."They just made plays when it came down to it. The quarterback is a damn good player. The tight end is a damn good player," Chiefs cornerback Orlando Scandrick said. "Those guys have been with each other a long time and you can see it. You can see the non-verbal communication. They just made more plays than us tonight. I tip my hat to Tom Brady. I tip my hat to Rob Gronkowski. I tip my hat to Julian Edelman, the whole Patriots football team." If you missed the show, you can watch above, on Fox Sports Kansas City, or by using the Chiefs’ Facebook or YouTube channel. Here are some notes from the show:Episode two opens with Chiefs general manager Brett Veach’s NFL Scouting Combine press conference from mid-February. The next scene shows old friend BJ Kissel (!!!) ordering coffee with director of football operations Mike Borgonzi (who I believe is an NFL general manager in waiting, but I digress). Borgonzi discusses a day in the life of an NFL personnel man at the combine: waking up at 5 a.m. Arrowhead Time to get a workout in then heading to the facility and interviews that run to 11 p.m. Arrowhead Time. “So it’s a full day,” he says. Borgonzi says that many NFL personnel men get into scouting after they are done playing to still feel that competitive drive. The cameras show NFL prospects working out in what appears to be a hotel lobby. The next scene is back in the draft room in Kansas City — a team personnel meeting on March 10.The Chiefs personnel staff evaluates Cortez Broughton, who landed with the Los Angeles Chargers in the seventh round of this year’s NFL Draft. The staff seems to like Broughton.Demarcus Christmas, who landed with the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round of the draft Juan Thornhill black jersey , is next. As the staff discusses Christmas, who they say is a quiet kid, the scene fades out.To Florida State’s Pro Day the crew goes, following Ryne Nutt, the Chiefs’ director of college scouting.Derrick Nnadi, who played football at Florida State, is also there. Nnadi says the Pro Day is much more relaxed than the Scouting Combine. Nnadi is mic’d up, and you watch as he motivates and gives advice to current Seminoles. Nnadi introduces the show to Odell Haggins, Florida State’s assistant head coach and defensive line coach. Haggins says he’s very proud of the fact that Nnadi got his degree as well. Haggins said one thing Nnadi had to realize is that football was more about technique than strength. He learned that over time. You quickly realize Nnadi is very popular in Tallahassee. Jessica Francis, Florida State’s assistant director of educational services, says she loves telling Nnadi’s story to others. “To me, he was a perfect example of what we look for at Florida State. He prioritized academics and he prioritized athletics Juan Thornhill Jersey Mens , and he was successful in both. He walked out with that piece of paper and we couldn’t be more happier for him.”Nnadi says that he thought he was going to Seattle, Atlanta, New York or Minnesota at the NFL Draft. The phone rang and it was the Kansas City Chiefs. The show cuts to his draft reaction. Nnadi says he wants to keep his starting spot in 2019, improve his pass rushing and get past the AFC title game. Fast forward to Veach’s pre-draft press conference. News breaks, and the Chiefs have traded for Seattle Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark. Clark flies into Kansas City. There are a few Chiefs fans waiting for him at the airport. The show transitions to his opening press conference. Clark signs his big contract with the Chiefs.Clark says that seeing Derrick Thomas and Will Shields on the walls inspires him. Former Chiefs equipment manager Mike Davidson, who I can only describe as the current keeper of Arrowhead Stadium, shows Clark the Hall of Honor. You can feel Clark is in awe. (Side note: if you’ve never went on a tour of Arrowhead with Davidson, add it to your bucket list)Finally, the show timeline reaches the NFL Draft. Chiefs owner Clark Hunt sits with Veach in the draft room. Veach says that the Chiefs like Temple cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, who ultimately went to the Indianapolis Colts at pick No. 34. Veach then discusses cornerback Byron Murphy, who went to the Arizona Cardinals with pick No. 33. The Chiefs didn’t pick in round one, so the show moves to Nashville starting in day two. That’s where assistant equipment managers Cale Kirby and Chris Shropshire are representing the Chiefs for the NFL Draft. While I know this is to be expected Bashaud Breeland Jersey , there is no mention of Tyreek Hill during the portion that covers night one of the NFL Draft. That’s when the team suspended Hill. The narrator mentions that the Chiefs lost Chris Conley and De’Anthony Thomas in the offseason, making wide receiver a viable option (That’s what we’re going with, huh?).Regardless of how we got there, it is fun to see the call from Veach, Hunt, Andy Reid and Dave Toub to Mecole Hardman. It appears that Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy comparing Hardman to Chad Johnson has been completely cut out of the episode.Reid tells Hardman to keep his hamstrings loose, that the team is going to wear him out. Toub says he looks forward to seeing him. I remember Veach saying Toub had the biggest smile in the room on draft night—he wasn’t lying. It looks like next episode continues with the draft.
