Haerther, 26, hit .425 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 27 games during July to maintain his lead atop the American Association batting race. He strung together a 17-game hitting streak from June 20-July 6 and had a 12-game hitting streak from July 10-22. He ended the month with hits in five consecutive games and competed in the 2014 American Association All-Star Game as the starting first baseman for the North. On the season, Haerther is hitting a league-best .399 with nine home runs and 48 RBI. He also leads the league with 108 hits, is second with 25 doubles and fourth in extra-best hits with 34. Haerther has also won the leagues player of the week award twice this season and this is the second time this season a Goldeyes player has won a monthly league award. "I love the sport and even though I was on the podium at the Olympics, Im still hungry to win."
