If there was ever a chick-flick/sports movie genre, this one would definitely top that list. 5. The Blind Side (2009)The Blind Side is the most successful football movie in terms of Academy Awards with Sandra Bullock taking the Oscar for best performance by an actress in a leading role. Plus, whenever you see offensive tackle Michael Oher in an NFL game on TV, you can say "hey, thats that guy from that movie." 4. Friday Night Lights (2004)Based on the book by H.G. Bissinger, Friday Night Lights takes a look at the surreal culture of high school football in the United States and the pressure these young men deal with from coaches, family and the small towns they play in. It was even good enough for a TV series. 3. The Longest Yard (1974)Younger generations might think of Adam Sandler and Chris Rock when The Longest Yard is mentioned, but it was the original with Burt Reynolds in 1974 that made this one a cult classic.
