(AP) — When they take the field Sunday, Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr . will have waited 1,072 days for his rematch with Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Antonio Brown .“It’s the best versus the best,” Harris proclaimed.Brown got the best of Harris last time.The star cornerback hadn’t surrendered a touchdown in 35 games before Brown scored twice on him in man coverage in the Steelers’ 34-27 comeback in Pittsburgh on Dec. 20, 2015.“I hope we see them again,” Harris said afterward, and the feeling was certainly mutual — Brown caught 16 passes for 189 yards that night.It appeared Harris would get his wish a month later when the Steelers visited Denver for an AFC divisional playoff game.Brown didn’t get to play, however, after taking a vicious hit to the head from Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict the week before, a foul that set up Pittsburgh’s game-winning field goal in a wild-card game at Cincinnati.Harris was dealing with a bruised left rotator cuff that basically turned him into a one-armed tackler, but he helped the Broncos beat the Brown-less Steelers 23-16, propelling them on their Super Bowl title run.Although Denver (4-6) hasn’t been back to the playoffs since, Harris remains one of the game’s great shutdown cornerbacks. His interception of Philip Rivers last week made him the only player in the NFL with multiple interceptions each of the past seven seasons.Brown is just as good as ever, too, helping the Steelers (7-2-1) stay atop the AFC North year after year. I have no faith in backup tight end Xavier Grimble being able to be a reliable fill in for McDonald let alone see the substantial snap counts James participated in past years. Do I want a player on the field for 500 snaps who fails to wrap up the football, who carries the ball in the wrong hand, and tries to showcase his tough guy mentality all on the same play, while failing? Pass. I want a guy who is technically sound as a receiving tight end and the best blocking tight end in the 2019 draft. TJ Hockenson is that player. Is Hockenson a SPARQ athlete like fellow Iowa Hawkeyes Noah Fant? He is not. Fant was not asked to block in college which raises a red flag. Just because he was not asked to block in college does not mean he can’t. such a load? NFL Network’s Bucky Brooks compare Hockenson to Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, which is a valid comparison. They are both big-bodied tight ends separated by only an inch and about 10 pounds. Both ran a 4.7 forty time at the combine and contribute on the field similarly. That is high praise for Hockenson to be compared to a player fourth on the NFL’s all-time reception list and 21 in receiving yards. With so much offense lost it will be hard for the Steelers to replace that with their current players. The 1 T. J. Watt Jersey ,720 lost yardage from James and AB departing cannot be absorbed by players currently on the roster. A big chunk should and will but not all of it. Hockenson has the ability not only to open holes for Conners but also find holes in defensive secondaries like Heath Miller did for so many years in Pittsburgh. He played with the Cowboys last season and was waived Sunday. The Redskins also likes quarterback Colt McCoy, and they believe that he will be ready before the off-season programs. Bruce Allen also stated that the 2018 season was a roller coaster (for obvious reasons now) and Washington needs to find better players. When asked about the #FireBruceAllen movement, Allen stated that the fans want to win. Optimistic: The Redskins are very optimistic that Alex Smith can return from injury and contribute to the team. Jay Gruden will have the opportunity to build his staff (which he is currently doing at Redskins Park) and hopefully have a healthy team for 2019. Suddenly, he was the big man on campus.“It was funny talking to some of the coaches, they said to teams that use a fullback I was the pretty girl at school,” Ingold joked.While it felt good to be wanted, Ingold understands that in the NFL there are those who want nothing to do with him. He estimated around two-thirds of teams use a fullback, meaning he’s not even going to be on the draft board of 10-12 teams. Some teams have told him they hope they get the opportunity to draft him, others came across as trying to recruit him as an eventual undrafted free agent.Either way, Ingold knows his day will come Saturday, on Day 3.
